Managing Director, Louise Kinch, started Absolute Home Help in 1993 after booking a cleaner for her childcare business who turned up once and was never seen again. Louise was contacted a year later by the agency asking why she did not continue with the cleaner.
They had no idea the cleaner only came once and I realised there was a big niche in the market. “I thought cleaning as a whole could be done a lot better with home helpers who were happy and dedicated and felt supported in their jobs.” Clients were looking for a reliable service that they did not need to worry about, says Louise.
She interviewed extensively and found four women to form the inaugural Absolute Home Help team in Drummoyne Sydney. Now, she has 30 or more Home Helpers on the books as well as a range of associated industry service providers from window cleaners to dog walkers.
“I advertised in the local paper and worked on the basis of giving clients the best service possible and giving the Home Helpers training, support and opportunities.”
Louises philosophy has been immensely successful as the agency has gone from strength to strength. For Louise, the business is still her passion. All clients receive a gift every year and a personal call from the office every four months to check how the service is going for them.
Security
One of our major objectives is also providing clients with ongoing security. The house keys are never marked with their name or address but with an AHH code and phone number. If someone has to fill in on a job, key movements are recorded in the database.
All our Home Helpers are security checked and fully insured and have signed a legal contract stipulating that keys are never to be provided to anyone else without the clients permission.
AHH matches the most suitable Home Helper with each client and job and encourages clients to give feedback whenever possible. They are also informed that they can change their Home Helper at any stage.
It is not surprising that many of Louise's loyal Home Helpers have been with the business for many years as well as the majority of her clients.
